Dru James, Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the Women of Color in Engineering Collaborative (WCEC)

In this role, Dru (they/them) manages the WCEC’s external communications through strategy development, content creation and distribution, podcast and webinar production, and impact reporting. Their work ensures that women of color in engineering are aware of and have access to the plethora of resources that the WCEC has to offer, and creates a space for authentic engagement. Prior to joining SWE, Dru spearheaded communications efforts for corporations, boutique agencies, and nonprofit organizations across a variety of industries.

Dru earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina, with a minor in Africana Studies. Their academic, professional, and personal pursuits have all focused on fostering equitable access to resources and opportunities for success in every avenue of life.
